02/17/2009 - Orlando, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Dwight Howard recorded game-highs of 45 points, 19 rebounds and eight blocked shots to lead the Orlando Magic in a 107-102 overtime victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.
Rashard Lewis added 17 points and Hedo Turkoglu 13 for the Magic, who have alternated wins and losses for the last seven games. J.J. Redick chipped in 10 points in the triumph.
Raymond Felton donated 22 points, 10 boards and five assists for the Bobcats, who saw their two-game win streak halted. Boris Diaw and Emeka Okafor tallied 14 points apiece in defeat.
Gerald Wallace, who hasn't played since January 27 when he suffered a collapsed lung and broken rib, had eight points and four rebounds. Raja Bell also returned after missing the last three games with a groin injury, he finished with 13 points and six boards.
Two free throws from Howard followed by four straight points by Turkoglu gave the home team a 101-97 lead with 2:41 left in the extra stanza.
Moments later, Vladimir Radmanovic hit a three-pointer with 10.3 seconds left to cut it to 104-102.
Charlotte, however, was unable to pull any closer as Orlando held on for the win.
Down by four late in the game, Turkoglu hit a pair of free throws to cut the margin to 89-87. Then, after a block from Howard at the other end, Turkoglu hit a jumper to knot things up with about 2 1/2 minute left to play.
After getting fouled by Howard, Okafor missed a pair at the charity stripe which led to a free throw from Howard with 1:50 remaining that put the Magic on top by one, 90-89.
The teams traded baskets before the Bobcats received a layup from Diaw with 20.3 seconds left to put the visitors on top, 93-92.
Lewis' running jumper was no good and Diaw grabbed the rebound and was fouled. Turkoglu was called for a technical foul on Bell during the inbounds pass and he hit the free throw for a 94-92 lead with 14.1 seconds left.
Bell was fouled again with 13.6 seconds showing and hit the first but missed the second and Turkoglu grabbed the board, which led to a game-tying three- pointer from Redick with 8.1 seconds left to send the game into overtime.
The Magic jumped out to a 25-21 lead after the opening stanza thanks in large part to Howard's 14 first-quarter points.
The Bobcats were on top, 50-43, heading into the intermission and in control, 74-68, heading into the final 12 minutes.
Three-point plays from Redick and Lewis gave Orlando an 81-80 lead with 7 1/2 minutes left in the game.
